About Our Gym

Our gym is a close-knit family business where we treat all members like part of our own family. Our primary focus is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and we work tirelessly to perfect our techniques. We believe in pushing ourselves to the limit, training hard and grappling even harder with the authorization of Black Belt, Professor Marcelo Brigadeiro (AFT Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), and Black Belt Professor Sifuentes Antonno (AFT-USA), we are now officially part of the Astra team as Astra Fight Team USA (Washington Parish) . Currently, only two black belts have been accepted in the USA to represent the Astra Fight Team name, and I am honored to be one of them. Any tags of our kids and Team, please make sure you tag Us of course, Astra Fight Team-USA and Astra Fight Team Brazil

We are the only academy exclusively dedicated to children.

I have spent the last twenty years training on the grappling mats, and to those in the know, further introduction isn't necessary. My journey through Jiu-Jitsu has been a mix of wins and losses, but my drive to improve my ground game has remained constant. My ultimate goal is to continue refining my skills and become the best Jiu Jitsu Coach I can be, by inspiring my young students to reach for greatness.

Our Vision

My vision is a difficult one to execute, as it primarily emphasizes the grown men and women in sports. However, I plan to bring attention to the dedication of these athletes who leave everything on the gym mats every day.

Our Mission

Introducing a fresh era of martial arts to an impoverished, high-crime area, and making it affordable to children and teenagers is a noble undertaking. By providing them with an alternative to picking up bad habits or turning to drugs, you can help make a positive impact on their lives. Martial arts transformed my life, and it has the potential to do the same for them. We not only offer more affordable prices that anyone can afford, but also provide longer training times to our students.

MMA

Mixed martial arts has ancient roots dating back to the Greek Olympics in 648 BCE, where pankration, a combination of wrestling, boxing, and street fighting, was a popular combat sport.

Luta Livre

Luta Livre is a no-gi grappling art. All moves and techniques are done without any sort of gi or gi grip. This is by far the biggest difference between Luta Livre and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This has a lot of benefit when training for MMA as Luta Livre fighters will be more used to gripping the body and grappling without having a gi to grab hold of.

GI-Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. BJJ approaches self-defense by emphasizing taking an opponent to the ground, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokeholds.
